I’m leaving a good job in the Medical Field and do not have one lined up yet…I admit, I am fortunate that my hubby brings in the bulk of our income. I have decided to take some time off and look in the fall for something else.
I have a few reasons:
*My kids are almost grown up, and I want to spend some time with them.
*My current job has unnecessary tension. The boss/owner has never learned social skills or how to control her temper..This has caused a great deal of chaos in the work place. Who needs that? Life is too short and we get ONE chance to do our best. There are plenty of things to do and I feel I have plenty to offer to the right organization when the time comes…..Best Wishes…

Yes, but always have your butt covered, always ask for a meeting between your supervisor and his supervisor as well as personnel, tell the truth, leave nothing out, and only use what applies to you and the supervisor,or the super, of another department if it pertains to your situation.Ask for a letter of recommendation, You may not like it but make them do it.,ask for a sheet of all you r.commendations vacation time left and the cost of cobra. now here's the deal on cobra, if you have a pre existing condition get it no mater what it cost. If You let it lapse your screwed. Because as soon as you pick up your new insurance you will be screwed. hang on to it no matter what you have to sacrifice

In my 25 years of working, I have only ever quit a job once without having another job lined up.

But that was a commission job and the company owed me over $50,000 the day I quit. So I received paychecks every week for almost 4 months.

Here are some facts about looking for work when you are unemployed.

1. Your offers will be lower than they may be if working. Just like an empty house screams "desperate seller", a non-working applicant screams "desperate for job".

2. Depending on your education, experience and salary requirements, it may not "be easy" to find a job. Contrary to government unemployment statistics there are not as many jobs to go around anymore and many companies have put their hiring on hold. I know people with years of experience and bachelors degrees that have had to take retail work as they can’t find real jobs.

All this depends on you though, how long can you survive without working? If I lost my income, I couldn’t sit around waiting for a great job, I would have to take ANY job to keep food on my table.

yes i have. i found work not making the same amount but there are jobs out there. i was dealing with too much bs and it was better to move on.

i didnt do it but my daddy did. he became a truckdriver. then he opened his won ambulance base and now his lif's got him on top

I have and it was the worst mistake of my life!! I quit because I worked in a factory and I kept getting harassed by all the men. My boyfriend also worked there and threw a fit when he found out what was going on so we quit. That decision landed me in jail and him in prison. We couldn’t find another job and we got desperate and found other ways of supporting and feeding ourselves. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. He just got out of prison last week.

yes and it was a huge maistake

i phoned in sick for the first time in 8 months or working for them and my boss shouted at me, and as i was ill i was really grumpy and wrote my notice.

it took me only a month to find another job, but at recent interviews prospective employers have been very interested in that lilttle time gap

yes, long hard hours. it sucked going without an income, but it worked out OK.
